Fairfax High School (FHS), located in Los Angeles, California, opened its doors in 1924 as an agricultural and mechanical school emphasizing "practical" skills, including landscape gardening, forestry, architecture, and agronomy. With an enrollment of 2,800 students and a magnet program that specializes in the visual arts, FHS emphasizes school-wide learning that reflects the competencies that students will need for success in college and in the future. Fairfax High School is a member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).
