T-Mobile Huddle Up Teams Give Back to the Community
T-Mobile Huddle Up Overview
Players and coaches at the T-Mobile Invitational took a time out before the tournament began to give back to the host community. For the third straight year, participants put the values of teamwork, leadership and community service to work off the court at a T-Mobile Huddle Up service day. T-Mobile Huddle Up is focused on connecting kids nationally to positive people, places and programs. In 2008, T-Mobile Huddle Up engaged more than 2,400 employees in 18 volunteer events nationwide to make over afterschool spaces across the country.
2008 Invitational Service Event
On December 28, teams spent the morning at the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie, working side-by-side to transform the Club. Together, they created inspirational murals, gave walls and doors a fresh coat of paint and laid new flooring. Volunteers also created a T-Mobile Huddle Up Zone Café, a space where kids can hang out, enjoy a snack and socialize after school. For players and coaches, the T-Mobile Huddle Up service event was an opportunity to thank the Muncie community and leave a positive, lasting legacy for youth to enjoy for years to come.
